How do I create an account?

You can register by clicking "Member Login" at the top of the site, or during the checkout process. When creating your account, please ensure the information provided matches your official professional registration records exactly, as this is the data used for regulatory credit reporting. After registering, you will receive an email with instructions to log in and set your own secure password.

What are the system requirements to run your courses?

Our platform is web-based and designed for accessibility. For the best experience, we recommend using a modern, updated web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Please ensure your device has a stable internet connection. No special software is required, though we recommend disabling any ad-blockers that may interfere with the video player or course navigation.

How do I find my courses after purchasing?

Once your purchase is complete, your courses will be instantly available in your user portal. You can access these by logging into your account and selecting "Dashboard" in the main navigation menu. If you do not see your course immediately after payment, simply refresh your dashboard page or check your email for the purchase confirmation receipt.

How does BlueCPE report my credits to regulatory bodies?

Once you successfully complete a course and pass the final exam, your certificate of completion is generated immediately. For organizations that require systematic credit reporting, BlueCPE will transmit your completion data according to their specific regulatory timelines.

What information do I need to provide in my profile for credit reporting?

To ensure your credits are reported accurately, your profile must include your PTIN and your name exactly as it is registered on your PTIN account. For example, if your official registration is "Robert," please use "Robert" in your BlueCPE profile, even if you commonly go by "Bob." Please also ensure the professional designation selected is accurate.

How quickly will my credits appear in my regulatory portal?

While IRS regulations allow for quarterly reporting, BlueCPE reports your completion data to the IRS on a weekly basis. Once we transmit your data, the IRS typically takes 24 to 48 hours to post the credits to your PTIN account. Because this process involves both our reporting schedule and the IRS's internal system processing, we recommend allowing 7 to 10 days for credits to appear in your official portal before contacting support. During the busy fourth quarter, we prioritize even faster transmission to ensure you meet your year-end filing deadlines.

Do your courses satisfy my specific licensing requirements?

We provide high-quality educational content designed to meet professional development standards. However, because requirements vary by jurisdiction and professional designation, it is your responsibility to verify that a course fulfills the specific credit categories, ethics mandates, or subject-area requirements of your state or board. To assist with this, every course details page includes a "CPE Information" section that explicitly lists the course’s qualifications, credit categories, and applicable accrediting bodies.

What is the AFTR course and why do I need it?

The Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) is a 6-hour continuing education course required for non-exempt tax preparers who wish to participate in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP). This program is designed to increase the tax knowledge of those without professional credentials (like CPAs or EAs) and grants you a "Record of Completion" with the IRS.

Who is required to take the AFTR comprehension test?

The AFTR comprehension test is required for all non-exempt tax preparers who take the AFTR course. Credentialed professionals (such as CPAs, EAs, attorneys, and enrolled retirement plan agents) are generally exempt from the AFTR course requirement and do not need to take the test.

What are the requirements for the AFTR comprehension test?

The IRS mandates that the comprehension test consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. It must be completed in a single session within a 3-hour time limit. A passing score of 70% or higher is required to earn credit.

What happens if I fail the AFTR comprehension test?

Per IRS guidelines, if you do not achieve a passing score, you are allowed to re-take the test. Please note that for security and integrity purposes, the re-test will consist of a different set of questions.

How long does BlueCPE keep my completion records?

In accordance with regulatory mandates, BlueCPE maintains required student completion records for a minimum of five (5) years.

What is your policy regarding data privacy and security?

We take your data security seriously. We collect only the information necessary to provide accredited education and fulfill our regulatory reporting requirements. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. For a comprehensive overview of how we protect your information, please review our full Privacy Policy.

How can I request an export of my educational history?

If you need a copy of your records for your personal files or a state board audit, you can download your certificates directly from your Dashboard. If you require a certificate, please contact our support team at support@bluecpe.com, and we will be happy to assist you.

What is your refund policy?

To be eligible for a refund, requests must be made within 30 days of your original purchase date. To request a refund, please email your order number and the course title to support@bluecpe.com. We typically process refunds within 7–10 business days. For full details on refund eligibility, please review our Refund Policy page.

Is my payment information stored on your site?

No. We prioritize your financial security. Your full credit card details are processed directly through our secure, encrypted payment gateway and are never stored on BlueCPE’s servers.

Why am I seeing sales tax on my order?

Because we provide digital educational products to customers across the country, we are required to comply with state and local sales tax laws. Our system uses Stripe Tax to automatically calculate the exact sales tax based on your billing address at checkout, ensuring we remain compliant with all state regulatory requirements.

How do I access my order history?

You can access and print your receipts at any time. Simply log into your account, navigate to your Dashboard, and select the "Orders" tab. All your previous transactions will be listed there for easy access.

What is the accreditation status of your courses?

BlueCPE is currently working to be an IRS-approved Continuing Education (CE) provider. Our courses are developed to meet the strict educational standards defined in Treasury Department Circular 230. Each course description clearly indicates the specific number of credits available and the subject matter categories for which they qualify.

Do you guarantee that my credits will be accepted by my state board?

While our programs are designed to meet national IRS standards for tax professionals, continuing education requirements vary by state and individual licensing body. We always recommend that you verify specific course acceptance with your state board of accountancy or licensing agency prior to purchase.

Does BlueCPE guarantee that all course information is perfectly accurate and up-to-date?

No. While BlueCPE strives to provide high-quality educational materials, we make no representations, warranties, or guarantees regarding the absolute accuracy, completeness, or currency of our content. Because the tax and regulatory environment changes frequently and rapidly, it is not possible for us to guarantee that every piece of material remains current at all times. Users are encouraged to exercise their own professional judgment and verify current regulatory requirements.
