Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 26, 2026

At BlueCPE (accessible from https://www.bluecpe.com), we provide continuing professional education for tax professionals. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, maintain, and safeguard your information when you use our Learning Management System (LMS) and read our tax news blog segment.

1. Who We Are

Our website address is: https://www.bluecpe.com.

BlueCPE is an accredited provider of Continuing Professional Education (CPE). For privacy inquiries, you can contact us at our administrative mailing address:

BlueCPE 353 Carolina Mtn. Dr. #155

Franklin, NC 28734

2. Information We Collect

To provide accredited educational courses and report credits accurately, we collect the following information when you register an account or complete a purchase:

  • Account & Profile Data: First name, last name, email address, password, and your Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
  • Billing Information: Billing address, company name, and transaction history. Note: Full credit card numbers are processed securely through our encrypted payment gateway (Stripe) and are never stored on our servers.
  • Educational & Progress Data: Course enrollments, lesson progress, quiz results, final exam scores, completion dates, and issued certificates.
  • Technical Logs: IP address, browser type, and login timestamps collected purely for account security, system troubleshooting, and fraud prevention.

3. How We Use Your Information

We utilize your data strictly for operational, educational, and compliance purposes:

  • To manage your student account, provide access to the LMS, and track course completion.
  • To generate dynamic completion certificates displaying your name, PTIN, and IRS program numbers.
  • To securely process payments and prevent transactional fraud.
  • To send automated transactional emails (such as purchase receipts, password resets, and course updates).

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third-party marketers. Your information is only shared with trusted entities necessary to run our platform and fulfill professional compliance obligations:

  • Regulatory Reporting: As an accredited provider, we report course completion data, as required, directly to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Return Preparer Office, NASBA, and CTEC to ensure your CE credits are properly applied to your professional credential.
  • Payment Processing: Financial transactions are securely handled via WooCommerce and Stripe.
  • Security & Optimization: Automated tools may analyze login attempts to block malicious spam, brute-force attacks, or credential abuse.

5. Cookies

We use cookies strictly to optimize user experience and maintain secure active sessions:

  • Authentication Cookies: When you visit our login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if your browser accepts cookies; this contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • Session Cookies: When you log in, several cookies are established to save your login session and dashboard preferences. Login cookies persist for two days (or two weeks if you select “Remember Me”). If you log out, these session cookies are instantly removed.
  • E-Commerce Cookies: We utilize cookies to keep track of items placed in your shopping cart while browsing our courses.

6. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles or blog segments on this site may occasionally include embedded content (e.g., educational videos, resource links). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same manner as if the visitor had navigated directly to the third-party website. These external sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, or monitor your interaction with that content.

7. Data Retention & Regulatory Compliance

  • Account Profiles: For registered users, we store the personal information provided in the user profile indefinitely to allow ongoing dashboard access to certificates and course histories. Users can view, edit, or delete their profile information at any time (with the exception of their username).
  • Educational Audit Logs: Please note that your “right to erasure” or data deletion requests are legally limited by regulatory mandates. To maintain our professional accreditations, BlueCPE is required by the IRS, CTEC, and NASBA to permanently maintain course completion details, test logs, and certification history for a mandated legal audit window (typically 5 years). These compliance records cannot be deleted upon request prior to the expiration of the regulatory window.

8. Your Rights Over Your Data

If you maintain an active account on this site, you have the right to request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any details you have directly provided. You may also request that we correct any inaccurate information (such as updating an incorrectly entered PTIN). As noted above, deletion requests will be fulfilled for all marketing or non-essential records, excluding data we are legally obligated to retain for administrative, regulatory, or system security purposes.
