Welcome to BlueCPE—a continuing education website being built for tax professionals who value clear information, convenient online learning, and a straightforward experience.
We’re preparing courses in federal tax law, federal tax law updates, and ethics, along with an Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) course for eligible preparers participating in the voluntary IRS Annual Filing Season Program. Our goal is to make it easy to understand what a course offers and how it fits your professional education needs.

BlueCPE has applied to become an IRS-approved continuing education provider. Our application is pending, and courses are not yet available for purchase.
While that review is underway, we’re continuing to prepare the website for launch. You may see course descriptions and other information as you explore. Those listings introduce our planned offerings; course availability will be announced after the required approval is received.
What you can do now
You’re welcome to create a free account before courses become available. Creating an account does not require a course purchase.
You can also explore our blog, where we share tax-industry news, highlights from official agency announcements, and information about continuing education. These articles are designed to keep tax professionals informed, with links to original sources for readers who want more detail.
Our Site Information category will carry announcements about BlueCPE itself, including launch news, course availability, and website updates. It’s the place to check for changes to the status described here.
A few things to keep in mind
Continuing education needs vary by professional status and program participation. The Annual Filing Season Program is voluntary, and some participants qualify for an exemption from the AFTR course and related comprehension test. Enrolled agents have separate continuing education requirements, and the IRS does not allow AFTR credit toward their enrolled agent requirements.
As you consider future courses, review the requirements that apply to you and the credit information provided for each offering. If you have an approaching education deadline, please make arrangements with an approved provider that currently offers the credit you need. We do not yet have a confirmed launch date.
